Not a Tesla? We still come get you.
Tesla makes up most of the stranded-EV calls in San Diego, but the other brands are catching up fast. Rivian R1T and R1S adventure deep into east county and run out of charge past Ramona. Ford F-150 Lightning owners tow trailers and burn range faster than they planned. Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Kia EV9 drivers are newer to EVs and sometimes misread the range estimate. We roll with a CCS adapter on the 240V cable and charge you on-site — same response, same pricing as a Tesla rescue.

- F-150 Lightning towing a trailer used range faster than expected
- Ioniq 5 or EV6 showed 0% and shut down mid-freeway
- Mustang Mach-E charge port won't release and you can't drive home
- Polestar 2 is dead in a hotel garage with no outlet access
- Bolt or Ariya 12V died and the car won't wake up
Common questions
Is CCS charging through an adapter as good as Tesla-native?
The speed is identical. Our rescue truck delivers 240V AC at 9.6 kW out of the bed outlet. A CCS adapter converts that to the CCS-1 handle your car accepts. You get the same ~30 miles per hour of range. The only difference is the adapter itself — we carry it and inspect it between rescues to make sure it's rated and clean.
Does this work for a Rivian R1T or R1S?
Yes. Rivian uses CCS-1 charging (and as of 2025 has a NACS adapter program). Our rescue works from either end. Most Rivian rescues in SD are on the S22 east of Ramona or the S2 near Julian, where the charging network is sparse.
What if my Ford, Hyundai, or Kia has OEM roadside already?
Use whichever is faster. If you're inside the OEM roadside window and they can dispatch in under 60 minutes, that's fine. If they're quoting a 2- or 3-hour wait, call us. We also accept reimbursement from most OEM and insurance roadside programs.
Do you charge Chinese-market EVs or older imports?
We support any EV that takes AC Level 2 via CCS-1 or J1772. That covers basically every EV sold in North America. Chinese-market EVs (if you somehow imported one) usually take GB/T, which we don't carry — call before dispatch.
What if my EV needs DC fast charging, not Level 2?
Our rescue is AC Level 2 — that's what fits in a truck bed. If you genuinely need DC fast (you're trying to add 150+ miles in 20 minutes), we're not the right call — you need a flatbed to a DC fast charger. For the typical "stuck on the shoulder, need 15 miles to the next charger" scenario, Level 2 is plenty.
