Recovery

At 0% and the car won't budge? We've got you.

The EV range estimate is optimistic. Headwinds, hills, AC load, and a cold battery can eat 20% without warning. When the screen reads zero and the car stops, you need charge in the traction battery — not a tow. We dispatch to your location, plug into your charge port with a native NACS cable, and add 10 to 20 miles of real range. Enough to reach the next Supercharger or your home wall connector.

Common questions

Will my EV be damaged from running it to 0%?

Generally no, but it's hard on the battery. Modern EVs have a buffer below the displayed 0% to protect the cells from full discharge. Occasionally running to 0 won't kill the battery; making a habit of it will shorten its life. After we charge you, the car should behave normally.

Why not just tow me to a Supercharger?

Towing an EV is more complicated than a gas car. You usually need a flatbed — you can't tow most EVs with the drive wheels on the ground. Flatbed dispatch to a Supercharger can take 1 to 3 hours in San Diego. Our mobile charge usually gets you back on the road in under an hour.

How do you plug in if my car is completely dead?

Tesla charge ports open with a button press on the cable or a tap in the app. If the 12V is dead, the port won't unlock — in that case we jump the 12V first, then open the port and start the main charge. We carry the tools and jump kits for both steps.

What if I'm in the middle of nowhere in east county?

We cover all of San Diego County, including Julian, Alpine, Ramona, Pine Valley, Borrego Springs, and the rural roads in between. East county dispatch takes longer — typical arrival is 75 to 90 minutes. If you're outside the county line (Imperial, Riverside), we refer you to a partner service.

Can you charge an EV with frozen or very hot pack?

Yes, but range-per-minute drops if the battery is outside its thermal window. A cold-soaked pack (rare in San Diego) accepts charge more slowly. A hot pack after a long drive may derate the charge rate for a few minutes. We factor this into the time estimate and let you know on arrival.
